  2. Tawas Area Trailhead
off Monument Road on the left, before Camel Road. Parking available.

  3. Sand Lake Area Trailhead
off Esmond Road and Indian Lake Road, near KJ’s Restaurant. Parking and rest station.

  4. Liberty Road Trailhead for Huron Trail
is north of Hale, off M-65 and Wickert Road. Trailhead is on Liberty Road.

  5. Old State House Trail

ORV / ATV Vehicles
The Huron Trail in Iosco County is partially open to ORV’s. It heads west from Oscoda, with a southern stretch heading to Sand Lake. It can be accessed from US-23 or River Road in Oscoda. Both lead to Grass Lake Road, where the trailhead has parking space.

A shorter set of loops is also available off Bissonette Road, west of Oscoda. This trail partially follows the old state snowmobile trails, as well as offering separate trails around Indian Road and Copper Creek Area.
